Business law

Business law in the broadest sense is a core practice area of VWEW Advocaten. We assist clients in all cases in which one or more aspects of Belgian business law require to be dealt with.

Amongst other things, you can count on us for drafting and advice on any type of commercial contract, such as distribution, commercial agency, licence agreements, sale & purchase, building contractors’ agreements and other forms of self-employed service provision, financial agreements and standard terms and conditions.

We also provide opinions and assistance on commercial practices and unfair competition, and in setting up advertising and promotional campaigns or regulated sales techniques.

And, of course, we also assist and represent you in commercial disputes before the Belgian courts and before Belgian and international courts of arbitration.

Parallel to Belgian business law matters, VWEW Advocaten moreover has knowledge of the issues surrounding intellectual property. The firm advises on copyright, trade marks, designs, patents and other intellectual property rights, including all possible aspects of know-how and business secrets.

We also act for international and Belgian clients in proceedings that turn on issues connected with intellectual property rights and provide assistance in drafting and negotiating licence agreements.

As an extension to intellectual property, we additionally provide advice on information technology, including all aspects of the internet, the protection of databases and personal data, e-commerce and e-government.
